My third and final day trip from Sorrento was to the roman ruin of Herculaneum. Herculaneum, like Pompeii was buried by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. After visiting Pompeii most people dont go to this smaller site, but even though it is a smaller area for the ruin, what you get there is really amazing and just as impressive as going to Pompeii. The site itself is completely below the level of the modern city around it, this has a strong impression as you first walk up to it,
