Chartres, Day 24

I took a day trip from Paris on a Saturday to get away from the crowds. I went to Chartres, a city about 1 hour west of Paris by train. This city is known for its 13th century cathedral and its stained glass windows,

The exterior of the choir stalls were impressively ornate,

Here are 2 of the stained glass windows, the windows have a deep blue color, the unfortunate part about this is that  the church is really dark,

I was lucky to be there for a concert by a womens choir group, they played for about 1 hour and it was really nice,

Wandering around town a little and finding a small river,

 Interesting name for a street,

A nice sunset view as I was leaving,

  1. That street name is awesome!

And I definitely appreciate the cathedral tour of Europe. :)
