Bari, Day 44, 46 & 47

After Salerno I continued south to the city of Bari. This was a nice city that was busy and not touristy. I enjoyed walking around and feel like I was in a living Italian city.

The window in my hostel room, it has an exterior metal shade that is operated by a crank,

The city of Bari,

The drink list at this restaurant was somewhat entertaining,

Paestum, Day 42

I took a day trip from Salerno to see the ruins at Paestum. Even after seeing Pompei and Herculaneum these ruins were still impressive. There was a large area of ruins including 3 large and fairly complete temples,

The Temple to Athena,

Temple to Poseidon,

Temple to Hera,

The rest of the ruins,

Salerno, Day 41 & 43

From Positano I traveled over to Salerno, it is a nice town on the eastern end of the Amalfi Coast. The town was full of nice little back streets that I love to wander,

Here is the city Cathedral,

The crypt was really impressive,

Note that the changes in color in the walls in the 2 pictures above is actually a different color of marble,

This is the main shopping street in Salerno,

I was fortunate to see some lovely sunsets here,

They already had up there impressive display of Christmas lights all over town,

This is a view of the castle up in the hills behind the town,

Here are some views from along the water,
